Meet Your Doula

My name is Taylor Jefferson, and I’m a Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula through DONA International, a Certified Childbirth Educator, Lactation Educator, and Spinning Babies® Parent Educator serving the Greater Houston area.

But more than anything, I’m a passionate advocate for safe, equitable, and empowering birth and postpartum experiences for all families—especially those who have historically been overlooked or underserved in maternal care.

With over 21 years of hands-on experience in healthcare—spanning Pediatrics and Family Medicine—and the last 6 years dedicated fully to birth work, I bring a unique blend of clinical insight, heartfelt support, and culturally sensitive care to every family I serve. I’m also trained in perinatal maternal mental health, so I show up ready to support the whole you—emotionally, physically, and spiritually.

I believe birth is not only sacred—it’s transformative. My approach centers on collaborative, education-driven care so that you feel truly informed and confident in every decision. No two birth journeys are ever the same, and that’s the beauty of it.

  • Taylor was the doula for my second son, Ayden. I was high risk due to having high blood pressure and congestion the entire pregnancy. Taylor made sure to curate her perinatal visits to my specific needs and concerns about childbirth. When my hospital wasn’t able to provide my scheduled induction, Taylor helped me contact my OB and come up with a contingency plan. Once I was able to secure an emergency visit I was immediately sent to the hospital for the birth. Taylor went by my mother’s home to collect my maternity bag and ensure that aspects of my birth plan were carried out even in this emergent situation. She was instrumental in helping me get through the birth, which was swift and dramatic. She helped to support both me and my husband during a situation that was changing minute to minute. Her preparation helped the medical staff to be abreast of my needs and allowed for me to continue to receive excellent care. Once I came home with Ayden, she assisted in every aspect of acclimation, including helping my older son to adjust to having a new kid around. Taylor has gone out of her way to make sure that my family has the best possible experience. I can’t imagine having my son without her.
